What we Believe

We accept wholeheartedly the Christian faith as set out in the New Testament and as helpfully summarised in the historic creeds of the Christian Church, namely:-

1. The sovereignty of God in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgement.
2. The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of Holy Scripture and its supremacy in all matters of faith and conduct.
3. The sinfulness and seperation of all men and women from God.
4. The substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God for the salvation of mankind.
5. The grace of God and the response of faith which makes salvation personally effective.
6. The work of the Holy Spirit of God in the hearts of men and women transforming, gifting, empowering for the Christian life and the corporate life of the Church.
7. The personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ in triumph.

As a church we are not concerned about furthering denominational interests but welcome all those who desire to know and serve God. This is seen over the years by the inclusion in the membership of men and women who at some time or other have had connections with many different branches of the Christian Church.

We believe wholeheartedly in the ability of God to change lives by His Holy Spirit on the invitation of the individial, and encourage participation in the act of believer's baptism by full immersion.

Turners Hill Free Church is member of New Connexions and a member of the Evangelical Alliance - by virtue of such associations the Church is committed to a strong Biblical basis of faith.
